There are few other reasons that could explain why a small theater
production in Syracuse, N.Y — a musical about Ohio high school students
delusionally devoted to the Season 2 “American Idol” first runner-up — has
stirred national interest.

Propelled by its buzz-ready title, “Idol: The Musical” received mentions
in the New York Post, Variety, USA Today and Access Hollywood when word got out
that the show would have an off-Broadway run. Celebrity gossip site
perezhilton.com, under the headline “Gayken: The Musical,” wrote: “We are
buying our tickets now! … The possibilities are endless.”

American Idol star in in-flight altercation

Pop sensation Clay Aiken was reportedly involved in an onboard scuffle at the weekend, while flying to Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Raleigh, NC-native, who finished as runner-up to Ruben Studdard in the second season of
American Idol
, got into a dispute with a female passenger during his
Continental Airlines
flight.
According to FBI agent Gary Johnson, the two became involved in an argument over the singer’s foot resting on the woman’s armrest.

Clay Aiken in Airplane Feud with Female Passenger

Former “American Idol” runner-up Clay Aiken was reportedly involved in an airplane spat with a female passenger on Saturday.
Aiken, 28, had been traveling to Tulsa International Airport for a concert later that evening had placed his foot on the woman’s armrest. Aiken and the woman then exchanged words and the woman was alleged to have shoved the singer.
Attendants on the Continental Airlines flight were able to resolve the situation but both Clay Aiken and the woman were held at the Tulsa airport until FBI agents interviewed the pair.

Aiken Gets Into Spat With Woman on Plane

TULSA, Okla. —  Singer Clay Aiken apparently got into a dispute with a woman during a flight to Tulsa, drawing some scrutiny from FBI agents but no charges, a newspaper reported.
The 2003 “American Idol” runner-up was on the Saturday morning Continental Airlines flight for a evening show, and concertgoers said afterward that Aiken joked on-stage about being beaten up by a girl earlier in the day.

won’t be showing much skin any time soon
. Says producer Doug Ellin: “I don’t have any interest in seeing that. Adrian has tried to do that a couple of times. I’ve told him no. Sundance specifically. One scene in the hot tub he just decided to go without his pants on, but we didn’t use that take.”
